BOUNDAROUND INFLATABLES = TAKES THE LEAD IN BOUNCY CASTLE SAFETY SCHEME

People and organisations hiring bouncy ca= stles, slides and other inflatable play equipment in the Norfolk/Suffolk area can = do so safe in the knowledge that the inflatable has passed an annual ‘MOT’ test following a move by Boundaround Inflatables to = become one of the first hirers in the country to join a new bouncy castle safety inspection scheme.

The PIPA scheme, which has the full backi= ng of the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), has been set up by the various tra= de bodies operating within the inflatables industry, including those represent= ing the manufacturers, the hirers and the operators.  It requires inflatables to be inspected= on an annual basis to ensure they conform to the relevant standards and are safe = to use.

Central to the scheme is a database (www.pipa.org.uk) containing details of= all inflatables that have successfully passed the test.  In passing the test, an inflatable is a= lso issued with a certificate and a unique, numbered tag which is secured to th= e inflatable to ensure the hirer and end user can easily check its status.

Marcel Prag of Bound= around Inflatables said – “This is a significant development for the industry and = one which we embrace as a very positive step.  Health and Safety is important in any industry, particularly one whi= ch supplies equipment used by children, and this scheme provides the mechanism= to ensure that inflatables are inspected on an annual basis.”
